STEWART'S NEW RECORD: The previous record for greatest improvement from starting position was set by Jimmy Spencer in the June 1996 race at 36 places (40th to 4th). Tony Stewart's run today from 41st to 3rd sets a new record of 38 positions.

EDWARDS' WIN - The win here is his fifth in 100 career starts. The weekend was special for Roush Racing as the team won all three races at MIS this weekend.

POST-RACE QUOTES:

Race Winner #99 Carl Edwards: "This one's for my dad. I've been wanting to win my dad a trophy. I love ya dad. Happy Father's Day! He's (my father) the smartest racer that I know and I wanted to win a race for him so bad on Father's Day. I have to hand it to Martin Truex. He's brave to be running so high. He taught me something here.

Second Place #1 Martin Truex, Jr: (on the car being tight) "It was that and the spin on lap 100 or whatever it was, getting spun on the backstretch there. I had to use my car up real bad coming up through traffic. I was having a hard time paying attention to what exactly I needed on my race car. It got a little too tight in the end. I got to Carl. I was running a bunch faster than he was and I got there within 8 or 10 car lengths and it was like I hit a wall. It got really tight. I couldn't really do much with him. It was a great day for the Pro Bass Shops Chevrolet team. Probably some of the best pit stops we've ever had on pit road. It was probably one of the best engines I've ever had, too."

Fifth Place #8 Dale Earnhardt, Jr: "We had a good enough car to run better than fifth but I'm happy as heck for where we finished. We were real real loose in the middle part of the race and my guys worked on that and fixed it. We were as good as anybody at the end, I think. (coming from the back) "Me and Martin, we both had that kind of day, we both got behind and he had a great car all day. We got a little loose and got behind a little bit. Both cars at DEI today were really strong. I'm real proud of how we ran, just super proud. My team made the adjustment that got me to where I could get going again. Without that I wouldn't have made it. (track conditions today) "Slick but it was fun. Man, when it gets loose it's a handful."
