Rich Wilbur Wins August 2007 Campsite Contest
With "Christmas" selected as the theme for the August Campsite Contest at Michigan International Speedway during the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup weekend, a large number of entries were submitted, but one in particular made everyone as jolly as Santa himself.
Out of the many entries in the August 2007 contest Rich Wilbur of Hesperia, Mich. emerged as the winner for the second year in a row. Wilbur and his crew showed great creativity with their Brookfest campsite. In turn, Wilbur will receive his campsite for free during the August race weekend in 2008.
Participants in the contest registered their sites, which were designed based on the Christmas theme selected by MIS.
"Their enthusiasm not only for our contest but for camping in general was what set them apart from the rest of the contestants," said MIS Director of Guest Services Tim Booth.
Deposits are now being accepted for the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup events at MIS by calling 1-800-354-1010. Placing a deposit allows customers to purchase tickets after the renewal process but before the public on sale date.
